Brothers
Milly did not want to seem a prude, and said yes.
And in no time at all, Milly’s BFF Coyote Pup was making introductions to her brothers—a whole pack of much older, larger, gnarly-looking Coyote Brothers. A frisky pack of young coyote ne’er-do-wells.
………
Fox Theodore arrived just in time, and plunged quickly into negotiations.
Meanwhile, it took Zip a little while to rouse Old Lady, — and by the time they had reached the scene, Negotiations were in full force.
There were two burly Coyote Brothers on each side of Theo, and the rest of the rugged pack was busy pushing Milly further into one of the dark, damp, scary tunnels, deep under the Bridge.
Were we to come a moment later, — thought Zip, — I do not like to think what would’ve happened.
Of course, Old Lady had packed what she called “heat” in her little clutch bag, and as soon as she grumbled, “Milly, do you know these boys?” and went into her purse, all of Coyote Brothers disappeared, like they were never ever there.
